Stuff for Kids
There is so much for children to do here. On site, the number 1 attraction is the heated pool, and the paddling pool for tiny tots. We have ball games, badminton, boules, floating toys in the pool, bikes, trikes, push toys and other toys. We provide DVD players for you to either bring your children's favourite DVD's, or you can rent kid's DVD's at modest cost from Jim and Alex. A football area with goals and basketball net are 2 minutes away. Jim and Alex rent out mountain bikes, and child seats are free, we also have a two seater cart which you can tow and is great fun. If you have a birthday party to organise for one of your youngsters, we will make a birthday cake and provide food and balloons etc., for you, and arrange for an entertainer to come in and keep them happy.
Just 20 minutes drive away near to Lisieux, Cerza zoo, shouldn't be missed, a mixture of safari park and zoo, they lock you up (well not quite) and let the animals run free. A modestly priced self service restaurant, always with French fries, overlooks a huge plain stocked with rhino, giraffe and other wildlife, - fabulous. There is an enclosure set aside especially for youngsters, which has pot bellied pigs, sheep, and goats all with young which can be petted and fed by the youngsters. Nearby Caen, has Festyland, just off the ringroad, a sort of mini Disney, it has lots of rides, lots to do and a big top, ideal for a day out. Don't forget Paris is only 90 minutes away, by clean, on-time, and cheap train, and Eurodisney is just 2hrs 30 minutes by train and tube.
Wide, safe, sandy beaches are just 40 minutes drive, and whether you choose chic Deauville, neighbouring Trouville, Cabourg or Ouistreham each with stuff for kids to do on the beach, all are closely monitored and supervised for water quality and have trained lifeguards.
Older children shouldn't miss the tapestry at Bayeux, the Memorial, a huge museum for peace in Caen, the many war museums, and the American war cemetery at Omaha beach is a must. Falaise, is the birthplace of William the Conqueror and Falaise castle is well worth a visit, you can hire radio headphones to tell you all about the chateau in whatever language you choose, and there is often a mediaeval fair with jousting etc in the summer. Just down the road is Automates, animated puppets which will keep children entertained for hours.
