Weddings
Your wedding day will always be precious and very special, but why not make it even more special and romantic, by getting married here, in one of the most beautiful parts of France, and in the lovely setting of Le Vieux Pressoir?
In France you have to get married by a government official, you cannot get married in church. In practice this means that you get married in the Mairie (town hall), and then go off to church to have the marriage blessed if you wish. Every town and village has a Mairie, our own is tiny and is presided over by Mr Pierre Radé, a kindly jovial Maire (Mayor) who divides his time between looking after his pedigree dairy cows supplying top quality milk for cheese production, and his part time duties as Maire. When getting married in France, there are a number of procedures to follow, including a residency requirement click here for detailed information. Many people who don't perhaps, have the time to follow the necessary procedures, quietly get married in the UK before coming to France, and then go through the same ceremony at the Mairie. Only the Maire and we will know.
We can arrange everything for you, from your bouquet, buttonholes, table decoration flowers, to catering, either a buffet meal or gourmet 10 course taster menu with carefully selected matched wines for each course. We will make your croquembouche, a French wedding cake being a tall tower of caramel coated choux buns stuffed with crème Anglaise, or a more conventional tiered cake. Our photographer will ensure your photograph album will usually be ready on the evening of your wedding, and we will make you a DVD free, of still and movie pictures of your special day. Live music can also be arranged, to play in between courses during your meal and for your evening party, and we will organise for you to be taken for the ceremony in a horse drawn cart, or vintage car or Rolls Royce. Any necessary translation is taken care of, and we provide you with a detailed translation of the ceremony and necessary responses.
Renewal of vows
You have been happily married for some years, and are considering renewing your marriage vows. What could be more dreamy than to come over romantic France, and renew your vows in French. We can arrange your special day in our Mairie, or in either a Catholic or Protestant church.
We can accommodate up to 50 guests here and arrange accommodation for larger parties nearby. We can also cater for you. Large groups of 100+ are a speciality. |
